Founder of Military Pen Pals

I have been supporting the troops since the first Gulf War. I have done much volunteering as well as being a Group Coordinator for the Family Readiness Program for the Army National Guard. My son is a former Marine and when he was deployed I founded a support group called Marine Moms.  As an American I feel proud to support the troops and do my part. We live in a great country and it is all because of the brave men and women who made it their business to defend us.

How it started:
The Website started when I was looking for a penpal in the military.  I wanted to support the troops, but all I found was paid services; so I started my own.  In the past year I have connected to many people overseas in the military and the support of the American people have been wonderful.

I guess the best thing out of this is that I met a wonderful man stationed in Iraq. (He is back in the Middle East for the fourth time.) It wasn't that I was looking to find a man, I was mainly here to support the troops. Please make sure you also support the US Contractors who work with the military, without them their jobs would be much tougher.

I hope you all find someone you can support and make their days a bit brighter by writing emails, letters and sending care packages.  It makes such a difference in their daily routines.

Thank you AMERICA!!!!

Where to start

Military Personnel as well as US Contractors:
You may e-mail me with your address and e-mail and what items you need or would like. Your email address or information will be in the forum and it will be for members only, so the public looking through this will not see it in order to protect your privacy. You may also have
your picture posted or pictures of your military experience in general.  I encourage you to let me know how you are doing. Check out the forum and post there.

Civilians:
You may go to the
MPP forum register for free.

Do not post your mailing address or phone number in the forum, or your post will be deleted.  You may post your e-mail and name. Also the best thing to contact someone in the forum is to write to them directly via their email.  Some military personnel may not be able to view the forum.

Forum:
Our forum is open to anyone who would like to post and is looking for a military penpal.  You do have to be a registered member to post in the forum. It only takes a few seconds to fill out your email address.  Thank you!!!

Chatroom:
The chatroom is for all of our users. Come and chat with us and meet some of the members and new friends. The Chatroom has been so much fun for those who have joined.  Stop by anytime.

 Join us in our chatroom

The Chatroom is open 24/7

The MPP Book:
This photo album has some great pictures from the soldiers in Operation Iraqi Freedom as well other military photographs.  Enjoy!!! Make sure you leave a comment for them. This also will be updated as new pictures arrive.

Family Readiness Support Group:
We have added to the forum a section for family support, which also includes friends of a soldier.  Do not hesitate to ask questions about deployment or every day stress.  It is better to discuss them here in a group, rather than burden the soldier abroad.  A soldier once told me the true heroes are those who are left behind.

Profile for Anjelikka

We, Military Pen Pals(MPP) are here to support the troops and connecting people from the United States with military personnel as well as US Contractors who are stationed overseas or are back in the country.  Many are in need of receiving letters and care packages and you can make a difference.  Please join us if you are interested in finding a penpal.  If you are in the military or a US contractor and are looking for support, please e-mail me and I will provide you with the support you need and add your information to the forum. Please read all the guidelines and what is new and if you have any suggestion to make things better, let me know. Anjelikka :)

Remember Military Pen Pals is not a dating service, we are here to support the troops. However, some of our members have developed closer relationships. If you harass a soldier you will be removed from our membership and will be reported to the DoD (Department of Defense).

I have a great links page with many links to other sites who support the troops, please check them out.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY for Contractors:
Hello,
I am a contractor that works in the Washington, DC area.  We have an open maintenance position.  I was wondering if you all have any areas where I can post my open position.  We have had good luck with military people, and would like to continue with that trend.

December 2007
I am in need of having new contacts added to the forum, so if you are a military member, please
email me and I will add you.  I guarantee you will get a penpal and care packages.

November 2007
Remember to register and look in the forum for penpals.

I want to give a special thank you to Joe Monto, who wrote the song We Thank You for all the troops...you can listen to it on YouTube. I hope you go and check it out.

October 2007
New
Contractor OIF family Support Group...please join if you have a family member in the sandbox or you are a contractor.

August 2007
Our new website design, let me know if you like it...thank you...the forum has been cleaned and you should find things faster.  You have to register to read entries and NO I cannot provide you with a penpal, you got to do the search yourself in the forum.

July 2007
Again, I would like to let people know to write to the contact addresses and not ask me to connect them with a contact.  This would take way too much time for me to do.  When you register in the forum, give it a day or two to receive your registration code.

If you know someone in the military who could benefit from this then pass the information on.  I also have flyers I can send to troops overseas, so they can get registered in the forum.

June 2007
I get new emails daily from people who request a penpal.  I cannot connect you to anyone, that is something you have to do on your own. Go to the forum and register and then directly write to any of the addresses listed there. If you are military or a contractor please write to me and I will add your information to the forum.

May 2007
Please support the American Contractors who are working side by side with the Armed Forces. A new section for the American Contractors is added in our forum.  We encourage contractors as well as their families and friends to register, so they can connect with others and get support, such as care packages and letters. Also, visit the website
American Contractors in Iraq for more information how you can help.

The Civilian Contractor
I'm a civilian contractor, not a soldier. You see, that's the only difference between you and me. Like you, I volunteered and like you, I have some fear. I go with you standing tall and praying we don't fall. You carry weapons of all shapes and sizes and I carry the hope of avoiding our demise.  You've done well, you scored one today and they tell me your medals are on the way. I get no medals, promotions or awards. Doesn't matter, I must go forward. Newsweek and Time write about you often, the contractor mostly forgotten. You tell you story, your loved ones can hear. I have been cautioned to keep quiet my job to fear. No one knows us, we're just there, hurting bleeding and dying. Doesn't matter, we're just contractors.

Please support these men and women.

February 2007
Our second year for this website.  We have now grown to almost 1600 members and supporters.  Please remember there are still many men and women that are in Iraq and Afghanistan and they need your support. Don't forget them. I would like to say thank you for those who sent in their photographs and video footage. You can watch our latest video below.

August 2006
I receive many emails from people wanting me to connect them with a specific person.  The truth is I can't really do this, it would be way too time-consuming.  My suggestion is that you look through the forum under military personnel.  As I get contacts I will list them there.  Write directly to that email address provided, since many of the guys and gals cannot read the forum. If you have questions about how this works, please email me. Thank you.
